Demar Derozan Spurs Team

NBA: DeRozan to Sacramento in three-team deal

Kings acquire six-time All-Star

Spurs, Bulls also involved in the sign-and-trade

The Sacramento Kings have acquired six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan in a three-team sign-and-trade deal that also involves the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Kings sent Harrison Barnes and an unspecified future second-round pick to the Bulls, who received DeRozan in a sign-and-trade deal earlier this offseason. The Spurs received Thaddeus Young from the Bulls and a protected 2023 first-round pick from the Kings.

The deal is a coup for the Kings, who have been in pursuit of a star player to pair with Domantas Sabonis and DeAaron Fox. DeRozan is a four-time All-NBA selection and has averaged over 20 points per game in each of the past nine seasons.

The Spurs, meanwhile, continue to rebuild their roster after trading away Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks earlier this offseason. Young is a veteran forward who can provide some leadership and toughness, while the first-round pick gives them another asset to add to their young core.

The Bulls, who were reportedly reluctant to trade DeRozan, ultimately decided to move him in order to clear cap space and add some younger players to their roster. Barnes is a versatile forward who can play both the three and the four, while the second-round pick gives them another asset to develop.

The deal is a win-win for all three teams involved, and it should make the Kings a contender in the Western Conference next season.
